Paint
correction

Removes fine scratches, holograms and dull areas. Your paint regains its depth.

Paint the way it should be

Car washes, the wrong cloths and time leave behind fine scratches and holograms. In sunlight, the paint then looks dull and older than it is. With a professional paint correction, we remove these marks in a controlled way and restore gloss and depth of colour.

Most scratches sit in the clear coat, the top layer. During paint correction, this layer is removed minimally and evenly until the scratches disappear or are significantly reduced. That takes experience. Too little removal brings no result, too much weakens the paint permanently. That is why we work with measurements and suitable pads and polishes, and check the result again and again under special lighting.

Our process

  1. Thorough cleaning and decontamination of the paint
  2. Inspection of the paint layer and its condition
  3. Multi-stage polishing matched to your paint
  4. Protection with a ceramic coating on request

Before the actual polishing, we measure the paint thickness at several points. This reveals resprayed areas and thin spots, for example on edges. With a test section, we find the combination of machine, pad and polish that works your paint best. Hard paints behave differently from soft ones. This fine-tuning makes the difference between a clean result and new holograms.

We also offer paint correction for motorcycles. Tank and fairing are worked with particular care, see motorcycle detailing.

What a polish can achieve

Paint correction removes wash scratches, holograms, light weathering and dull patches. Water spots that have etched into the paint can often be removed too. There are limits with deep scratches that reach the base coat or primer. You can often recognise such damage when your fingernail catches in it. Here, we advise you honestly whether polishing can improve the appearance or whether a respray makes more sense. Often, a deep scratch can at least be softened enough that it is barely noticeable in everyday life.

When paint correction makes sense

Typical occasions are buying a used car, or selling or returning a leased vehicle. Well-kept paint has a direct effect on the impression and often on the price too. More on this under lease return detailing. A polish also makes sense before any coating or wrap, because both preserve the condition underneath.

After the polish

To make the result last, we recommend regular hand washing and avoiding aggressive cleaners and car washes. A ceramic coating additionally locks in the new gloss.

Use clean microfibre cloths and the two-bucket method, where one bucket is used only for rinsing the wash mitt. Dry the paint with a soft drying towel rather than a chamois. This way, you prevent the scratches we have just removed from quickly forming again.

Frequently asked questions

How often can paint be polished?

That depends on the thickness of the clear coat. That is why we measure first. A professional polish removes very little, but still should not be repeated without reason.

How long does a paint correction take?

Depending on condition and the desired result, from one day to several days. We tell you the effort involved after the inspection.

How does it differ from a polish at the car wash?

A car wash usually just applies a gloss product that fills scratches temporarily. A paint correction actually removes the scratches.
